Khmer Language Raters

We are seeking individuals with a strong grasp of Khmer grammar and proficiency levels, such as teachers or others with relevant expertise.

We are recruiting Khmer Language Raters to assist in the evaluation and rating of Khmer test taker Writing and Speaking responses.

The Avant Rating Team has created a powerful and efficient training process that helps us ensure that we have well-trained, qualified individuals rating for us. We also have created a team of rater managers working in different time zones to ensure that the raters have immediate access to help when grading difficult responses. Each rater manager is assigned a specific group of raters to guide and direct. We also utilize a system of mentor raters and assistants to the rater managers who will help in guiding newly trained raters and ensure their rating is in line with our rating criteria and standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete all online training provided by Avant
  • Communicate availability with rater manager and maintain regular
    commitments
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with remote colleagues
  • Perform evaluation and rating of writing and speaking responses in a timely
    manner consistent with required turnaround times
  • Be able to use and learn basic web-based software programs
  • Attend regular online meetings and trainings with rater manager and rating
    team

Credentials Required:

  • Four-year college degree
  • Native speaker or high level of proficiency in the language + at least 18 months of in-country living experience
  • Some experience or exposure to second language learning
