Introducing Avant STAMP for CEFR: Your Solution for English Proficiency Testing
This Avant STAMP assessment aligns to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) standards. It measures A1 to C1 general proficiency in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking for English language learners aged 13+.
More than 1200 test takers in 25 countries on five continents have already taken the CEFR-aligned Avant STAMP general English proficiency assessment.
What makes the Avant STAMP for CEFR different?
The magic in the Avant STAMP for CEFR is in the purpose behind its use and the computer-adaptive nature of the assessment.
Progress Monitoring
Why wait for high-stakes entrance exams to measure your students’ English proficiency?
STAMP for CEFR can help you measure student progress throughout their learning journey.
Each test measures the ability of the test taker to communicate in the real world.
Computer Adaptive Testing
Computer-adaptive assessments provide a more precise language skill measurement. Test questions adjust their difficulty based on the user’s answers.
This challenges test taker skills without unnecessary frustration. Unlike fixed-form assessments that can be too hard or too easy for many test takers, STAMP for CEFR is appropriate for all levels.
What can the test taker expect on the Avant STAMP for CEFR test?
This assessment is conducted entirely online. There are no interviews to schedule and no need to travel to a testing center.
The assessment must be proctored which can be done onsite at an institution or through AvantProctor, our remote proctoring service.
There are four sections: Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.
Reading
This section must be completed before the Writing section. Due to the computer-adaptive nature of the test, the question difficulty will change based on your responses. The more you get correct, the more difficult it will become, and vice versa.
Number of Questions: approximately 30 questions
Average Time: 35-40 minutes
Writing
The prompt level presented is based on your work in the Reading section.
Number of Prompts: Three (3) prompts
Character Limit: Up to 2500 characters (400-600 words) for each response
Average Time: 20-25 minutes
