Bob Davis, Director of International Pathways

We are excited to welcome Bob Davis to the Avant Assessment team. Bob joins Avant as the Director of International Pathways supporting our partners in the Asia-Pacific region as well as helping us introduce a new product that will transform the higher education admissions process for international learners.

Bob recently served as Global CEO of Mandarin Matrix where he led an international team in promoting online Mandarin learning in school districts around the world. Prior, Bob spent more than a decade at The College Board as Executive Director of International District Partnerships and Special Initiatives as well as for Chinese Language and Culture Initiatives. His achievements in these roles included expanding international education programs, implementing online professional learning events, and establishing crucial partnerships.

Bob also held influential roles within the Chicago Public School (CPS) system. As Director of World Languages and International Studies Programs, Bob implemented language programs in over 400 schools, launched Chinese and Arabic K-12 language programs, and facilitated international partnerships. During his service for CPS, Bob also acted as China Advisor to Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley.

Bob is recognized as a strategic advisor with experience fostering relationships with international institutions and governments. He also possesses a diverse set of skills including advanced proficiency in Mandarin, Chinese cultural and curriculum resource development, and engaging education officials in world language and international studies policy.

Bob’s passion for global education and cross-cultural understanding will undoubtedly contribute significantly to the Avant Assessment team. His experience will make a positive impact on our mission to improve the teaching and learning of languages around the world. Welcome, Bob!
