Privacy and Data Security for Remote Proctoring of Avant Tests by Verificient’s Proctortrack ProctorLive AI Level 4 Service
In response to the COVID-19 situation and requests from school administrators and our other language testing partners, Avant has launched a virtual testing program that utilizes Verificient’s Proctortrack to administer remote proctoring services. Just like our online testing administered inside the school, the home-based online tests students will be taking are developed, designed, and graded by Avant. However, we must now virtually verify student identity and proctor the tests. We have chosen Proctortrack to provide these services for children 13 or older.
To help you better understand how Avant and Verificient, the owner of Proctortrack, collect and use personal information collected in connection with the testing process, we have provided you with information about our policies and those of Verificient.
We have chosen Proctortrack because of its reputation for powerful technology and high quality human remote proctoring of tests. We have selected Level 4, the most rigorous level of proctoring, because it pairs the real-time ability for a human proctor to observe and interact with test takers and for the test to be terminated if unallowed behaviors occur, together with the power of AI to analyze test taker actions.
Verificient has agreed that all Personally Identifiable Information from students who take Avant tests on Proctortrack will be maintained only long enough for Avant to confirm the identity of the test taker during the rating period, and will be deleted within 14 days after the test has been completed.
Proctortrack has a track record of using a rigorous process for vetting, training and monitoring proctors. As part of its process, Verificient conducts background checks on its proctors. It trains them for six months before they are allowed to review recorded testing sessions, and only after 18 months of work on recorded sessions are they allowed to proctor live-test sessions. Proctortrack takes the additional step of using its proctoring technology to observe its live proctors to assure its compliance with all rules and regulations.
